Pros:
Free reading material
Cons:
forgetting to take books back

I have always loved to read and used to set a goal for myself to read 104 books each year or two a week and I would keep track of the books that I had read.I don’t find as much free time now to read
but still try to read as much as I can.

The library here is great and very vast. There is nothing you can’t find because if you want a certain book and they don’t have it, they will have it sent in from another library and it will be available to you in 2 days.

Getting a library card is easy. You just show proof of residence and they will make you a card right there that looks similar to a charge card.

We are allowed to take out 5 books at a time and we have a month to return them which is plenty of time but if you need more you can renew them for another 5 weeks.

The hours suit just about everyone. There is a drop off slot to return books but I do not use that anymore as a couple of times I did, I never got credit for returning the book and had to pay for the book which was a low rate but none the less, the idea of borrowing books is so I don’t have to pay.

It is a good idea to mark down the day you took them out and when they are due back and keep it in a place where you will see it every day such as posted on your fridge because time can slip by before you realise it.

There are many books that can not be taken out of the library but you can sit there in comfort and quiet and do the research you need to from that book. You are also allowed to use the copy machines if you want to copy part of a book.

There are computers to use free of charge, you can take out movies, music and just about anything you can think of.

Every year they have a couple of book sales with a wide variety of books to chose from and you can save a lot of money purchasing at these sales.

If you want a certain book and are not quite sure where to find it you can ask one of the clerks or go to a computer and put in the title and author and it will give you the exact location of the book, the aisle, shelf number, etc which is very handy if you are in a hurry.

Libraries are also a good place just to go and study where it is quiet and you won’t be distracted or interrupted.

At income tax time you can also find any forms or booklets that you need there should you not get them by mail.

The children’s section is separate and there are people there to work with the children which keeps them busy while you do what you went there to do and it keeps it quiet in the rest of the library.

It is a free service so why not take advantage of it?
